DNS problems on PC

I’ve got a Windows 10 PC that’s connected via ethernet cable to my wireless router. It’s developed a syndrome recently where, when I first use it after it’s been left overnight (I rarely turn it off) it refuses to access the Internet saying there’s a problem communicating with the DNS server.
I know my internet connection is OK as the wi-fi from my router connects me just fine via my tablet and phone. A reboot seems to sort this problem out until it happens again.
As part of my attempts to sort this problem I recently changed the settings for DNS servers to Open DNS rather than Google’s.
I don’t know if it’s connected, but I’ve recently had a very irritating set of messages appear quite frequently from my Kaspersky software complaining about Chrome and self-signed certificates.
Any thoughts would be appreciated

Thanks for your reply - I reckon it's the PC not the router as when it's having the problem I can still access the internet via wi-fi from the router in question
I'll have a go with your suggestions
Thanks again0 -
Be simpler just to turn the machine off (and save money) and boot it up. A modern PC with an SSD takes seconds to get into windows
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
