Furnished or not?

Upon searching Rightmove for properties to rent I see you can choose furnished part furnished or unfurnished. I just wondered what reasons would you choose each ? I am a minimal person so I wouldn't want a load of furniture I didn't choose but I would probably like to have white goods and floor coverings provided. Any thoughts on this subject very welcome.

To answer the OP, we always go for unfurnished - not only have you got things that you actually like but if you cause any damage, it's your problem. Besides, at my age, I have more than enough of my own stuff. Perhaps different if you're just starting out.
Seems to me to be a no brainer? If you ain't got it, go for furnished, otherwise don't !I can't imagine a life without cheese. (Nigel Slater)0 -
Unfurnished! Otherwise anything you damage you have to pay for. Often part furnished means the landlord has nowhere to store the goods - go for a professional landlord where their own things aren't knocking about the place0

Last flat was furnished, not to my taste.
This flat is white goods only. Meant I could kit it out how I wanted and only need to buy white goods when I get my own place.
There is a cost difference between furnished, part furnished and unfurnished (cheaper, normally).Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear it in 2026.0
