Accepted for Aqua Classic Card

Yesterday I was checking my credit report on Experian and took a look at the credit cards I was likely to be accepted for, to my surprise I was 100% likely to be accepted for an Aqua Classic credit card. I'm surprised because I have a bad credit score (622 on Experian) and have never been accepted for cards before. I filled in the form and was told i'd been accepted and that I would receive my card and pin in the post, around half an hour later I received an email with my APR% (24.7%) and further confirmation of being accepted and was told again that within 10 working days I would receive my card and pin in the post.

Does anybody have any experience going through this and not receiving the card? I'm very reluctant to believe that I am going to receive this card especially with such a low APR.

  • Until you receive your card, you cannot be certain that everything is okay. Aqua can still review your application. I would think that this is unlikely though. Just be happy that your application appears successful.

Since it is your first card, I'll give you a few tips:
    • Every month, use the card for your normal groceries and travel costs as these things are already in your monthly budget.
    • Don't buy things using the card that are not already in your monthly budget.
    • Every month pay the statemented balance in full so as not to incur interest.
    • Set up a DD to pay the balance in full, so as not to forget to make your monthly payment.

  • So after multiple emails confirming acceptance you don’t think you’ve been accepted!?

Ignore your score as it’s not a real number lenders see or use
