Help with devolo powerlines

I have a large house and in the top bedroom we have a devolo powerline which works over wifi. The master powerline adaptor is connected to my network router on the middle floor of the house. The Devolo powerline in the top bedroom has always worked fine. This week I decided to add another powerline to my kitchen in the bottom of the house, where my wifi signal is poor.

I followed all the instructions in the leaflet and everything lit up. While sitting in the kitchen, I could see devolo on my wifi settings on my tablet and it was reporting excellent wifi connection. So I then entered the password provided with the new adaptor, into my tablet wifi setting and pressed connect to activate it, .

Despite entering the password for the new adaptor several times and double checking, it kept reporting incorrect password. I even tried entering the password I use on the powerline in the top bedroom but it rejected that too.

Any suggestions?

I think you meant works over the mains?
Have you tried to reset the device?

Which model is it and are they the same models?

They are both dLan 500 wifi models. The starter box has a master plug "dLan 500 wifi" and a slave plug "dLan 500 duo". The recent plug is a "dLan 500 wifi add-on adaptor". Both the "slave " plugs have a password but I cannot get either to work in the kitchen. It just says Password incorrect to both.

I have reset and started again but it made no difference. All plugs are lit up and the slave plugs report Good wifi connection on my tablet. I am currently in the kitchen where I can see Devolo on my wifi setting but it will not accept the newer plugs password or the original password from the other slave plug upstairs. I have checked it very carefully.

Is the firmware on the devices at the same level? I assume your using the dLan cockpit app?

You can also try the clone method. By plugging your d500 into a socket close to your router, max 10 meters away.
1.Plug in 1st d500 and wait for the green light to become solid.
2.Press the Home button on your d500.
3.Press the WPS button on your router within 2 minutes.
4.Press Home button on next d500 and repeat step 3.
5.Press Home button on next d500 and repeat step 3.
6.You should now be able to move the d500's to where you want them.

Been very busy will try suggestions today.

Question: I have one "master" Devolo and two "slaves".
I bought the master and first slave as a pair so there is one password for the slave. I bought the second slave as an add-on and it has its own password. So the slaves come with different passwords.

Do I enter the password which came with the slave in each case?
