(banking) app rules browser any day.If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0

Seems to me most banking hacks are when people get phone calls saying their bank account has been compromised and they need to transfer all their money to xxxxx account - and they do!0

There are literally countless attacks I could perform on you via your pc and/or network to levvy access to your bank account if you access it through a browser ..

Would those countless attacks involve me doing something stupid or would you use stealth to creep in while I was unaware? You're frightening me now! :eek:I can't imagine a life without cheese. (Nigel Slater)0 -
Too late now, I would change my bank account immediately if I were you...
(joking obviously)
And here's me thinking you were being helpful ...... just shows I should be on my guard more diligently.
(Let me know if you have fun spending my hard-earned savings, I'll be having a dry crust or two for lunch).I can't imagine a life without cheese. (Nigel Slater)0 -

A targeted attack would be stealth and misdirection and there would be pretty much nothing you could do to stop that. But there is definitely no need to be frightened - no cracker worth their salt is going to choose a random member of the public to target .. If they have the skills required to pull that off then they are going to use them for a much bigger payday ..
The 'common' attacks cast a very wide net and rely on someone slipping by clicking on a link in an email and entering their creds into a spoofed bank page .. It doesn't take much to fool some people unfortunately.
Rule of thumb - simply never ever click on a link in an email that you weren't expecting0 -
Thank you AndyPix - that's reassured me (as far as is possible in this world of thieves and hackers!). What you say makes very good sense.
No hacker is going to get very much out of me anyway, but still not worth losing. I never click on links in emails and I always physically type in the name of any website I know I want to visit.
I shall carry on being vigilant!I can't imagine a life without cheese. (Nigel Slater)0
