forgot to display blue badge

Hi,i attended an appointment at my local NHS walk in centre last week and forgot to display my
blue badge in disabled parking bay,on returning back to the car it had a pcn on window screen, pcn reason for issue,no valid disabled badge on display i went back inside to complain ,they advised me to take photos of front and back of blue badge, then go online to appeal it, which i did and lost,i was going to try borrow cash to pay it,£100-£60 if paid within 14 days, then a friend came to see me and he told me not to pay and come and look on here and read,
I have now read and learned i should not have got in touch with pcn nw limited, they now know i was driving vehicle, because of this, should i now just try and pay ?

I would complain STRONGLY to the NHS clinic manager and insist on it being cancelled due to you being disabled as detailed by the EA2010

it may have been a mistake, but the CLINIC should be able to get it cancelled using these government guidelines

I would not be paying a penny of this invoice due to a moments carelessness

    Hello Felix, welcome.

Can you please tell us the full name of the parking company?

No, just complain about them to PALS or the Clinic Manager, especially if forgetfulness can be a symptom of your disability. Even if not, COMPLAIN.

DO NOT PAY. Come back here and reply, if any letters worry you.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Do not even think of paying, more later.

Before you send anything off post it on here.

    Google NHS parking principles.
If the parking company hasn't cancelled after you informed them of a disability then the NHS trust could be in breach of the equality act.

  • A council car park would have just cancelled this upon sending in a copy of the blue badge. There is so much disparity between the way that the councils deal with PCN's and the PPC's. This is partly why people fall foul of the PPC's. I hope that this changes when the new code of practice is introduced and it's the same playing field across the board.

There's nothing more to say; re-read the advice already given above.

    Don't pay it.
