Hi all,
I'm sure there used to be a thread about granite and corian worktops but it's dissappeared. Anyone got any knowledge about them, where is the cheapest place to buy them....how much can I expect to pay?

Hi
Try http://www.diapol.co.uk/default.asp I used them about three years ago and they were fantastic - prices and service. The testimonials since seem to bear this out. They only supply granite but it's worth it.
Good luck0 -
A resounding second for diapol! There was a bit of a delay apparantly but we went from initial enquiry to fitted in 20something days which I can hardly complain about! Cheap as chips, looks stunning and the guy that comes to measure up is lushious, LOL!
Wanna see a pic?! (of the kitchen, not him!)Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Hi Wagstaf,
What would you like to know about corian? I have had experience installing it in the past.
Whoever you decide to use it is essential that firstly the fabricator is approved by DuPont and secondly that the installer has also been trained and approved. If you seek this approval you can be sure that you will be covered against product failure by DuPont under the Corian quality network for 10 years.
There are many company's who act as third parties who do not get involved with the fabrication or installation, they sub-contract the work out. In this case you should ask who will be fabricating and installing on their behalf - If in doubt contact DuPont GB via their website:
http://www2.dupont.com/Corian/en_GB/index.html
They will gladly check and clarify the credentials of any agent you select.
Don't restrict your search to Corian - there are many other products similar to corian on the market at the moment. LG offer Hi-Macs, Wilsonart also have a range, Samsung offer a staron solid surface. All can be installed with seamless joints and can be thermo-formed to produce curves.
Hope this helpsSee you on the dark side of the moon0
