Incorrect invoice after Lease Car

Hi,
I am looking for advice after recieving an invoice from Mini after handing back my lease car. I was send an email with an invoice for £645 for damages after returning my lease car. The email
Also said that I was over my mileage and that was included in the invoice. The invoice was attached to the email twice.
2 weeks later I received a letter in the post for another amount £1230 when I called to query it they said it was going over my mileage and damages. I told them
This was not in the original email?
I have not received another email apologising for not attaching the right invoice and that is the correct amount (£1230)
Am I liable to pay as the original invoice and email states that it included both mileage and damages?
I know if you went into a store and they made an incorrect price they have to honour it so does this work the same way? Can they really
Just say “oops sorry no you owe us double what we originally sent”
I would greatly appreciate any advice as the first iinvoice upset me enough never mind it being double.
I haven’t paid either yet as I was going to set up a payment plan.
Tia

No a shop doesn't have to honour an incorrect price - you make an offer for that price which they are free to accept or refuse.
As for your lease car...what did you agree to at the time of entering the contract? Usually these will set out what will be charged for going over your mileage. I can't see any reasonable argument supporting their mistake reducing your liability to pay the agreed price when their mistake didn't cause you to incur those charges/go over your mileage. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
How was the first invoice broken down?
Were you over the mileage? By how much, at what per-mile rate?
What was the difference in the breakdown of the second invoice?
How did the condition compare to the industry-standard fair-wear-and-tear guide?
