Using Gas but everything off.

There is nothing more annoying than a jobsworth!
A person in a position of minor authority who invokes the letter of the law in order to avoid any action requiring initiative, cooperation or common sense.
Someone who always obeys all the rules of their job even when they cause problems for other people or when the rules are silly.
A person who uses their job description in a deliberately uncooperative way, or who seemingly delights in acting in an obstructive or unhelpful manner.
There is no black art involved in using a manometer to test for gas soundness. If pressure drops over a period of time, there is a leak that needs fixing - simple as that!0 -
You're right, there is no black art to using a manometer, or even taking a 12 week course to learn about gas.
But you're wrong about the authority, I have none at all. But you go ahead and allow someone to carry out a test on your installation who isn't competent.
I haven't seen you post much, especially where I do, but if you read through my posts, you'll find that I only post here to help people rather than hinder them.
The rules are set out by the governing body, and are to be adhered to or you end up with death and/or destruction of property. There are plenty of catalogued events over the last few years where cowboys have blown themselves up or someone who 'knows what they are doing' has lead to someone dying from CO poisoning.
Also, why don't you just list the step by step process for checking for leaks. Let every tom !!!! or harry have go.
I don't expect you to understand considering your age.0
