OL, you have my sympathy, I can't take a lot of painkillers because they just don't work for me, something I seem to have passed on to Chris and to a lesser extent Laura. When Chris went for a wisdom tooth out they couldn't get him sedated, or numb his jaw, so in the end they just yanked it out. He had tried to tell them and asked for GA but they wouldn't listen - it's in his hospital notes now.

Steve is on the road to recovery and they finally decided not to do today's chemo and to let his body have a rest for a week. I must admit that it's a relief. They have moved him from his private room because someone needed it more but he's asked me to take some bags in to bring home some of the stuff he had with him because there isn't room on the ward. He may be coming home anyway, today or tomorrow.

  • Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Not such a nice morning so far, have a laod of coloureds in hoping to dry them outside.

Bathroom, toilet and bedroom day. OH does the carpets so that a help.

The chicken last night was delicious, I am going to slice the rest up for tonight. Will have to put my thinking cap on re dessert.

I spent an hour or so yesterday in the sewing room, I have 3 more blocks done, hope to get the blocks finished today then I can start putting it together. This one is all shades or purple.

OL hope you have an appointment to get your meds sorted out PDQ. Naughty girl taking grumps tablets. Ibrufen and its derivatives can do nasty things to your stomach, as I know to my cost, it also affects your kidneys and liver.

TA I can understand your reaction to the programme you watched, it brought back happy memories for you of times past, its natural to cry. Your sleep problems are to do with living on the edge whilst Bob was ill, they will return to normal eventually. I know its frustrating. WE were told it takes just a few days to develop a habit, but it can take month to be free. Just Nap when you need to.

I had a bad night last night woke just after 2am, was still awake at 6am. Could not read, I had not got a book on my tablet, so need to have a scout this morning and get one on.

Morning all from a dull dank and very noisy Mehefinland

The SAR wellycopters are running up engine at the moment and the noise id quite something else. Glad I don't live in the farmhouse next to their base, it must be horrendous.
Got to ride the girls finally this weekend ( twice:eek:). John Wayne eat your heart out:D Scoobymare still not right though. Mrs M not a happy bunny. Bruise mare was an absolute nutter  Came back lathered in sweat and very itchy. Used me as a rubbing post and nearly knocked me flying. Sleeve on my coat was white by the time she had finished. Good job it washes well.

DS finally surfaced from his sojourn to Cardiff on Sunday afternoon. Could we pick him up from station? I always thought when he got his own car I would stop being a taxi service:D So much for that.

Not a lot else happening so hugs and spoons.

Morning all! Almost awake today...I hope the whole 'waking up and being compos' gets a bit quicker in the next few months. Takes me about two hours to come to. Hopsital appt this morning to discuss [hopefully] radiotherapy or an appointment with whoever does it. It's quite funny being passed from department to department. You don't realise when you're diagnosed, you think there's a single entity that deals with things but no...I suppose that's where the cancer nurses come in handy as your one constant contact. I've never had to use the NHS so much, apart from odd occasions, and I'm truly grateful we still have one.
Today, guess what I'll be doing after? Yep, the zip...Finished taking the old one off but the inside lining has perished and is in big lumps in the bottom lining, so have to scrape all that off before I can start mending. Have to redo the pockets too, have done two, two to go. I need the table but OH has commandeered it for his Lego star wars and knowing how clumsy I am, he'll have to move it or I'll drop it.
I quite fancy doing a puzzle too, I did have a roll up puzzle board but I did the stupid thing of lending it to someone who never gave it back.
And I have ordered a ten tog duvet so we don't boil to death in the next few months.

mehefin, it's bloody lovely though, I do like a nice bit of meat, especially when it's covered in garlic and salt and crust bits...nom nom! commiserations on your noisy neighbours! Holly your wadrobe isn't going anywhere unless it develops legs so who cares, just do what you like, no pressure :) camelot, I'll be joining you in the sensible eating. I don't want to, I have to...nmlc, ooo full english...more noms..TA, it's kind of nice, but kind of not to go over memories, go easy on yourself. Gers, it is mild isn't it? I haven't used mine for the last two days either. OL, hope they find something you can take and PDQ. Speky, well done your OS ways and your good weekend! SO, hugs, there may be a reason fir it but I suppose unless they actually talk to you, you won't know. Hope they wise up soon. snoozer glad he's on the mend. And you now have an ironclad reason not to listen to the nurse [if you ever speak to her again] and insist if it happens again. Wotcha Poppy, tru.
    Motivational Monday!

  • Morning, have been pootling about, doing boring stuff like washing. Next I must do a DBS disclosure application the fun never stops here.

Had a good day yesterday but we walked a long way and now my legs ache.

OL I can't take ibuprofen either, it makes me feel sick and wobbly, not what you want when you are already feeling unwell.

I really must do this wretched firm now, will pop back later.

Sorry I was MIA yesterday but we had a strange weekend.

DD and DGS ( and Jasper ) came over Sat afternoon, as DGD was at other nans and SiL was at a football match. They stayed late for a movie, then DGS didn't want to go home so he stayed over till Sunday afternoon. Dad came on Sunday but was upset and cantankerous in equal measures, but I let it go as it was the 5th anniversary of my DMums death. Calm eventually reigned about 7pm and we were comatose in bed by 9 pm.
Anyhoo today will be another "chill out" day :j. It's been raining so no garden work can be done and the house is fairly clean and tidy except the big bedroom, which has the two spare beds still made up, but as the DGC are back on Thursday for a sleepover they can stay as they are.
Tea tonight will be leftover roast chicken, don't exactly know yet what form the meal will take.... perhaps I'll get my chef on it :rotfl:.
Poppy I am thinking of you and sending much love. I hope you can enjoy some better quality time.
Snoozer I hope Steve continues to improve and can come home soon.
taff I hope your hospital appointment goes well today. I have everything well and truly crossed, even my eyes :rotfl:.
I shall send the Sandman out tonight with extra strength sleeping dust !
I am sending hugs to anyone struggling at the moment and healing vibes to all the poorly people.
    Take care all

  • Hi all. Bit dull today here. I still have a cold and cough so feeling a bit bleurgh. Heard from DS he is off work with a bad shoulder and calling up this afternoon. I am surprised as he never has time off work. He usually comes for a meal on a Monday night.

The mince is in thr clow cooker for cottage pie and I have hauled out Nana's magic soup from the freezer for lunch so minimal cooking later.

OH offered to put a loaf in the bteadmaker. Went out to find chaos as he had weighed out the wrong amount of flour and wasn't going to put the water in first. All is well now and dough looking good.

Well hugs to all. Snoozer hope Steve can come home soon. TA good luck with dgs wrangling this week. Our dgs has an in service day next Monday. Healing vibes to all who are poorly atm. Anyone seen LW?
