Boundary question

Options
Our house and neighbours house to the right (when facing house) share a wall which divides our joining garages. We both have large drives. He has put an iron fence up which buffets up to the edge of the wall on our side. i would like to build a brick wall along this on the drive because they have an extremely large tree which sheds leaves and nut most of the year. Because he has gaps in his iron fence they all blow onto our drive causing us hours of leaf clearing every year. He ironically is left with hardly any. I csnnot build a wall all the way up because we wouldnt be able to open our garage door if we did because the wall would be right in front of it. The fence side is our responsibility. How can I resolve this because only way I can see is building wall up part of it which wouldn't look right. I have a feeling he put the fence over the boundary line but can't prove it.

Can't advise about the boundary but I'm sure someone else will be along to advise .

A brick wall is expensive and extreme . Have you thought about putting netting along the iron to catch the leaves ? It wouldn't be as thick as a brick wall. It will also test the effectiveness of catching leaves. If you don't like the look of netting then you can put thin panels

If I understand correctly, you want to build a wall directly behind your neighbour's fence that divides your drives.

Not only does this sound a slightly daft, pointless idea, as leaves are apt to blow where they will, but if you ask a brickie to build a wall in that position, they will probably refuse.

Firstly, you've not mentioned foundations and I'm not aware of any method by which these could be constructed without endangering the fence.

Secondly,it would be extremely difficult for a tradesperson to build a wall with another structure in the way. They would have to accomplish it 'overhand' and the result probably wouldn't look very professional.

Of course, I might have misunderstood, in which case ignore this post.

Put up some short fence panels or feather edging or something. We have a 18" wall between us and next door which is a good thing because their rubbish tends to blow into our drive. It'd be even worse without the wall.
