The only difference it would make if you owned a house jointly with her is that it would give the creditor another way to enforce the debt - a ccj followed by a charging order.

I am thinking off booking some time and paying a solicitor. I'm unsure what type of law this falls under.

I've messaged a few people on here. Who have gone through similar, if not the same problem. No reply yet.
