Parking charge notice

Hi all
I have today received a pcn through the post from a private parking company working on behalf of tesco express advising the ticket was issued because i parked on private land and failed to use the facilities. I actually parked in the car park and went to a shop across the road but before I left I did go into tesco. I do recall seeing a man standing in the car park (no hi viz) to identify himself as a Parking officer( not sure if that matters) but he took this photo the minute I crossed the road to enter the other shop and I would assume failed to see me enter Tesco before I left.
No ticket was placed on my car and had it been I could have provided a receipt during an appeal, but Like most people this was thrown In the bin, also I paid cash so I cannot prove any other way. If I appeal would the parking firm be able to request CCTV footage from tesco to prove I entered the store.
Thanks

Anyone can "request" CCTV footage. You can - indeed you have the right to do so as a data subject. But whether there actually is any footage is another question - how long ago was this?0

It was only two days ago.
Should a traffic warden for a private firm be recognisable as a local authority one would as this seemed very dodgy the fact he was plain clothed0 -
You need to post this on the parking tickets board really. It can be found here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/forumdisplay.php?f=163
Make sure you read the thread at the top of the page that tells Newbies to read it first as it contains ready made templates for you to use.0 -
They can dress as they wish on their own land, there's no obligation for them to be obviously uniformed. Nothing dodgy about it at all. Well, no more dodgy than you using their car park to go shopping elsewhere....It was only two days ago.

Follow the newbies thread on the parking ticket forum. There will be a proper way to challenge the ticket, but in future, do everyone a favour and don't abuse parking. Whilst I've no time for these private parking firms and their tactics, there's also a responsibility for people not to take the mickey. I'm sure you wouldn't be best pleased if I parked on your drive to visit your neighbour - "I'll only be a few minutes, mate" - and then popped back to say hello to you to legitimise my parking there.0 -
What difference does that make to anything? It's commonplace for car parks to be enforced by cameras with no humans involved, never mind ones obliged to wear a funny hat.Should a traffic warden for a private firm be recognisable as a local authority one would as this seemed very dodgy the fact he was plain clothed0
