Have you got up a ladder, close to the top, then pulled the strings out almost horizontally and slowly fed the string through .... to see if it's possible to get them all the way down. If the blinds are long, there's a chance you're not holding the string at the right (high) angle and instead of letting it slide through it's sticking thinking you want it to stop.0

From looking online I thinkw hat has happened is that the base of the string has reversed with the top, that plastic/wooden bit that is meant to be at the top is at the bottom, oh well they are up now so will adjust them in morning if anyone else has advice on that or others thanks in advance.0

Ok the bit I checked online is called a pawl, I think I need to loosen it so string can pull through but confused on how as videos online show various models.0

Hi, are the plastic tabs you are talking about little round discs with the string going through them? If so you need to loosen the string and lower them to the bottom of the window so that they only stop when the blind is fully down.0
