Job Offer

I was told about my redundancy last year and am leaving the company on 31st March 2019 and I have been fortunate to find a job starting 01st April.
OK the Job isn't my first choice but it is close to home and it is the same money (if I pass my probation period) I am on (but no bonus) at my current company.
I have signed the acceptance offer and now received the contract and all looks OK, along with forms for Bank Details, References and Medical. I was going to complete these straight away and return them but reading the accompanying letter it says to return these prior to the start date. So my first question is ...whats the rush to do this? OK admittedly I am keeping my options open but at the end of the day they can withdraw and I can withdraw at anytime before my start date right?
Secondly, there is a medical form which is asking for some information. I am on Beta Blockers for High Blood pressure but I am nervous about putting this on the form in case that the offer is withdrawn on medical grounds. I am perfectly healthy for my age a keen runner (not very fast) - how honest do I have to be - at the end of the day there is a 6 month probation period and if I don't like the job or they don't like me I will leave.
Thirdly, I am losing my company mobile and laptop with my current job - I am tempted to ask if my new role will get one, otherwise I will have to buy a laptop for personal use - any advice on this?

Also note that if they do supply items you need for work, they won't necessarily allow personal use.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
Many (most?) job offers are made subject to references. If you don't provide them it's entirely possible that the job offer will be withdrawn.
If there was no mention of laptop or company phone it's safer to assume you won't be provided with them. Using a company laptop for person use is something of a high risk strategy anyway as it can be replaced / removed at any time. My advice always is to keep work and personal kit separate. If they provide a phone keep it for work use only, and have your own mobile for personal use only. If the role requires that you be available out of hours ask for a company phone.
To be honest I would have expected these items to be mentioned at interview time if they were being provided.
Medical questions are another matter. If any medical conditions definitely don't affect your ability to do the job then I probably wouldn't mention them. There is a risk of it coming out later, but possibly lower risk to the job than mentioning up front.0 -

Poor advice. Medical forms need to be completed honestly and accurately, not on the basis of the applicant deciding whether or not something might be pertinent. Being on medication for high blood pressure is extremely common, so why make such a big deal out of nothing?0 -

Thank you I will be honest and put it down - I have been dishonest in the past and it caught up with me (years ago I lied about the reason I was leaving a job to a potential employer - I got offered the job and in the interview I said the reason why I was looking for a new job was because I was a temp, but I was in fact permanent - I just thought it was an easy reason to give for wanting to leave - however my future employer found out - and withdrew the job offer over the fact I had told a white lie). Lesson learned.0
