car insurance for hgv driver

first of all i have been with cornmarket but changed in november as they keeped going up.
im currently have a small citreon c4 coupe paying around 300 a year.but i want to upgrade to a prestige jag xf.found one i like nice 2.2 rsport 200bhp.went looing at quotes and it has gone totally through roof from 605 to right up to 2243 for 12 months.the car will be at work 5nights a week in a secure compound under camera as i tramp away all week will cover about 8000 miles year. all quotes are fully comp to.i have 9 yrs ncb 49 50 in june 3 points for speeding last feb thats it no accidents either
how the hell do these companies come up with these prices getting beyond a joke now

Different insurers will have different risk appetites and will quote different prices to each other.
Some prices will seem expensive, some will seem competitive
I would recommend that you choose the most appropriate option in respect of premium/policy/insurers which fits your budget and requirements.
You are absolutely not obliged to take the most expensive option.
