Replacement Diverter Valve

Hello,
I'm looking for advice please. I'm a first time home owner.
I've found out today that I require a replacement diverter valve as I'm only getting Luke warm water coming through taps.
My boiler is a saunier duval semia condens. I'm told these are old boilers. Accordingly I've been quoted £300 for the part alone and then labour. As such Ive been advised to just get a new boiler.
I've found the part onlinefor under £200.
Can anyone advise whether to try and have a replacement valve fitted or spend more money on a new boiler?
I've only spoken to 1 person so far as above.
Any help appreciated
Steve

1. I wouldn't expect the replacement of the diverter to take too long. Perhaps budget for £200, plus the costs of the parts. You can get refurbished diverter for about £50, but your heating engineer might not be prepared to fit it.
2. Perhaps get the engineer to service the boiler as well, unless this has been done in the past few months. Ask for an opinion as to how long it will last.
3. Budget on £1800 to £2300 for a replacement boiler installed and commissioned. Might be a little less, but don't bank on it. Much less and it won't be done properly.
4. Weigh up a possible cost of £500 for a life of "n" years against a cost of, say, £2,000 and a warranty of 5 or more years. Note that some manufacturers are very good at getting out of warranty claims, and you would also have to have the boiler serviced every year (which you should anyway).0 -
How do you know it's the divertor & not a blocked plate heat exchanger ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
