Hello
I am looking to get a mortgage but have a question about what about a previous default that has been removed from my credit record.
The default was removed from my credit file after the 6 year period and was UN-settled. Will mortgage lenders still be able to see this even though it has been removed from my file on experian?
Thanks

It depends if the lender you are borrowing from is linked to the lender you defaulted with.
Eg if you defaulted with Halifax theyll know about you defaulting with them if you apply for a mortgage there.
If you defaulted with vodafone say and got a mortgage through yorkshire bank, they wouldnt see it.
It wont show on your credit report, the people who you defaulted with will probably hold records of it though.0 -

Do you still owe money for this because if you do, they have 12 years, not six, to claw any monies back.

For mortgage debts yes.
For normal credit debts yhey have 6 years to use enforceable action before it becomes statute barred0
