Tax Free Dividends

As a basic rate tax payer do I understand that I can receive stock dividends up to £5000 without paying Income Tax on them.

It used to be £5000, but as of Apr 2018, the limit has gone down to £2000.0

For the last tax year (2017/18) yes but for this tax year (2018/19) it has been reduced to £2,000
