E: 28/02 Win 2 tickets to "Wise Children" at York Theatre Royal, 05/03
reg/login with Living North
It’s 23rd April – Shakespeare’s birthday – and twin chorus girls Nora and Dora chance are celebrating their 75th birthday. Their father, the greatest actor of his generation, Melchior Hazard turns 100 on the same day. As does his twin brother Peregrine. If, in fact, he’s still alive. And if, in truth, Melchior is their real father after all. A bawdy tangle of theatrical joy and heartbreak, Wise Children is a celebration of show business, family, forgiveness and hope. Expect show girls and Shakespeare, sex and scandal, music, mischief and mistaken identity – and butterflies by the thousand.
Adapted for stage by Emma Rice, she brings her own impish and unique style to Angela Carter’s great last novel Wise Children. You won’t want to miss it, and luckily we have two tickets to the opening night on Tuesday 5th March to give away to one Living North reader.
