Car insurance for a 17 year old apprentice

My 17 year old step-daughter wants help from her father with car insurance. She's a full time student in college but is on an apprenticeship. We've tried getting a few online quotes but aren't sure whether she's classed as a student or as employed. We've rung a couple of insurance companies but they weren't very helpful! Anyone able to advice please? Thank you

I sympathise. My son has been through this. The insurance industry doesn’t seem to have caught on about modern apprenticeships. My son phoned a few insurance companies and they’ve put him down as a student as he’s doing college and university as part of his apprenticeship.
Best to call them and then they can’t accuse your step-daughter of putting down an incorrect occupation.0 -
Thanks for your reply jaybeetoo. We contacted the company which had given us the best quote to clarify and were told to put student therefore there should be record held of what we were told if any problems do arise.0
