Process of elimination. If music files have disappeared from the card, put it back in the mobile device it belongs to and try to do something else with it - move photos or other data to it.

If it fails to read in one USB port with one card reader, try another port, another reader.

Process of elimination gets you to the point where you know if it's the card, the reader, the mobile device, the USB port, etc.

  • Do I Download the above on my Samsung Tablet or will it still work on my PC even though it does not recognise my SD when inserted in my USB port. I t just tells me that my f drive is empty. Is there any way just looking at the SD card you cou,d tell if it is damaged or faulty.

If you put the card back in the tablet, can you do things with it? Using the file manager, can you read and/or write to/from it?

Not just music, can you move other files around on it?

Do you have a third device that you could try it with?

Did you UNMOUNT the card prior to removing it from the tablet?

Yeah well Testdisk is not GUI based so it can be a bit daunting eg https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk:_undelete_file_for_FAT

But as DoaM suggests recuva is a simpler method https://www.ccleaner.com/recuva/download

Actually it is GUI based, but most people don't know where to look.

Download the file, choose to extract the contents(with WinRaR or the like) and then go into the extracted folder.
Once in there, look for qphotorec_win.

Right click on it and choose to Run As Administrator.

    Enjoy.

Kudos to the TestDisk team; https://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Team

In your case, you need to try Paid data recovery software, which can be able to retrieve your precious SD card data like music, photos, video. I found some software for you such as a Stellar Photo Recovery, Easeus, minitool....etc. I personally test one of the software is called Stellar Photo Recovery . If you want to test this software try to download demo version online. It will show the preview of all deleted or lost file from SD card. I hope this information helpful for you!
