buy to sell??

I have just bought 6 playboy watches from a seller in hong kong for £19 with free postage, my initial thought were to use a couple as presants and sell the others on for £3 quid, so that would mean that I had got two xmas presants for £7.
Has anyone one else bought to sell from another ebayer and what experience did they have doing it, i.e gain or loss?

ive bought a few badly described items cheap and re sold them for ££££
i guess the only downfall is they could check your feedback and see you paid peanuts for them...or dont leave feedback until youve sold them on0 -

I once bought a bundle of jewellery for about £20, I kept the bits I liked and resold others - I made my money back on the bits I didn't want. I also bought a shirt on ebay for about £2 including postage. It didnt fit and just sat in my wardrobe for ages. I re-listed it a few weeks ago for 99p and didnt really expect it to sell, but it went for £100

I'm assuming that as they are a power seller with a feedback count of 935 and seem to sell scores of wholesale items that if ebay were that against them selling their items that they would have pulled the plug on them long before now.
If I list them brand new for £3 I'm assuming that the buyer knows what they are getting!!0 -
I bought several cheap watches from usa a couple of years back. Having a clearout I decided to stick some of them on ebay and the johnny depp ones went for crazy money - I got them for the equivalent of £3 incl postage and ended up selling them back to buyers in USA for £26 on average each watch. Did not understand the massive bidding frenzy then watched pirates of the caribbean and fully understood the demand for johnny depp stuff

Was a great bargain and a case of right product at the right time (even thought I had no idea at that time lol)Some People Live & Learn, Some People Just Live...0 -

It's a bit of a faux pas buying items on an ID for selling - firstly for the reason above, but also to reduce the risk of a retailitory neg from a seller affecting your selling account.
The only time I use my selling account for purchases is if I want my ID seen on a high profile listing, or to use up seller rewards. I was once a high bidder on an item mentioned in the national press and you would not believe the amount of traffic hits my ID took from that!!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0
