Tesla's autopilot isn't really self driving. If it doesn't know what to do it'll bing and bong to ask the driver to take control.
It takes on average 12 seconds for a human to take back control of an automated vehicle so better hope they have time.0 -
AI will get better over time. That's normal. In 20 years time driving will be a lost art.
This is neither a good thing nor a bad thing. Just change which comes over period of time.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
High quality self drive cant come soon enough. Idiots all over the roads and accidents are very common even without the idiots. Fully behind self drive development myself.0

What will all the Boy racers do tho? most normal ppl will adapt, but IDiots who need to demonstrate their Persona by dangerous driving will end up beating people up instead?0

OK they're not perfect, but its not like our current way of working is totally safe either. Near where i live the A27 is generally closed most days due to accidents, something like 6 people a day die on our roads
Self driving is the future and cant come soon enough, the period where we have both self drive and manual drive will be the most dangerous though0 -

And they're 59% worse than us, is the point
This is one of those things that's always just about to happen, like x ray spectacles and androids
If we ever get androids or self driving cars they'll constantly be downloading new software to make them worse so you have to buy a new one
It amazes me how androids in the movies and books are never like this, they're perfect and last forever
the only exception was an episode of Red Dwarf where Kryten shut down, and even that was a built in feature !!0 -
Westworld
but even with these 'bad android' efforts the androids last forever or they could
actual androids will run on Windows and will keep crashing or mistake themselves for the gas boiler
I've got a laptop that thinks it's a phone
androids, same thing0 -
Round here, we have minicab drivers with the customer awareness skills of your typical Terminator.
Might as well have the real thing.0 -

Should imagine there would or should be some kind of regulations to make profiting in that exact area tricky or it just wont be relevant. And they're 59% worse than us, is the point
Wait 10 - 20 years and lets see.0
