Student House Hell - Need Advice

I haven't read the whole thread but I must say what a thoroughly unpleasant person Comms sounds.
It sounds like the landlord is very unprofessional. I am a landlord myself and to me , this sounds like he's just ripping off the students and thinks that they're young and have to suck it up. 10 days is far too long to wait for hot water and heating. How dare he tell them to find a swimming pool.
No wonder that so many of the young wanted to vote for Corbyn!0 -

No wonder that so many of the young wanted to vote for Corbyn!
Yes the young are often swayed by the promises of the extreme left.
(Thankfully my kids are fully on board with centre right politics, bless them)0 -

I think we all know what the poster meant.
"Obliged" was the word used by Elise, I just repeated it. One should never assume that all MSE readers realise a mistake was made. May have had awkward consequences but not as serious as not realising flammable and inflammable are synonyms. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

I apologise. I interpreted your reason for correcting wrongly lincroft.0 -

Comms can be very blunt but also is accurate where the law surrounding tenancies is concerned. It's nothing , not nothink.0 -

Op, you could also contact the NUS to see if they can signpost you, or CAB (SS will have all the details).
They do, but they cannot intervene in private contracts.
the NUS (which I believe I mentioned near the start) would be an excellent resource; not just for signposting, they are the OPs union and have legal teams etc0 -

Which is why I said that no wonder so many of the young wanted to vote for Corbyn.
There are far too many bad landlords out there
I say that as a landlord but also a parent0 -
