Parking Eye Aldi

Vehicle appears to have been snagged by these conmen. Letter to keeper / fishing stage. I know these scammers tend to file court papers so I'll have a go at acting early.
Background - car park was very dark and poorly sign posted. I actually made a purchase in the Aldi but was completely unaware of the time limit restrictions / poor sign posting. I was in the 2nd or 3rd bay on the left from the entrance facing the carriage way.
I was parked where the black 307 is.
Any initial thoughts?

Same as all the others.
See the NEWBIES thread and do an online Aldi complaint, and send PE the usual template appeal. With both, if you have Aldi receipts/bank statements from ANY day/week, attach them to the Aldi Head Office complaint & upload with the PE appeal, without implying who was driving.
If the person was shopping and spent over £30, or can show loads of receipts as a mad keen Aldi shopper, it's easy to cancel. Try asking around family & friends...not joking!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Ah thanks. But does the Aldi appeal require you having spend £30? I think I only spend a fiver on that particular splash out unfortunately.0

Surely like most Aldis there a 1 or 2 hour type time limit with no return within x hours? So why was a letter sent?0
-
like most aldi,s parking eye alter rules that were made at time of planning , often planning was given on proviso of 3 hrs , but PE have altered this to 1hr and 20 mins
is this an Aldi OWN site or a shared site0 -

Because ParkingEye can, because they make it up as they go along and take the likes of Aldi with them.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

It'd be logical that PE shortened the stay time to 1hr 20 because there's a big Morrisons 3 mins walk away, it's almost the next building. People marching between the 2 stores on foot with bags. Aldi probably ordered the change. I've even walked there after an Aldi shop to get fish. So at least I've had a useful headsup here that it could be as short as 80 mins.
I was at the new High Wycombe store a while back and had to return something. On 2nd visit the car park was totally full but it was not till then that I saw signs only visible inside the carpark, behind the bays, saying no return within 3 hours so I exited. Luckily I wasn't snagged then.0 -
If it's an Aldi-only site then (AFAIK) PE haven't taken any Aldi PCN to court as yet. We suspect it's in their contract with Aldi that they can't do so.flatulantyounggoat wrote: »I know these scammers tend to file court papers0 -
Ahh thanks everyone. Yes it was an Aldi only premises. Wonder if I should hold out and see then if they attempt to serve notice before claim papers on me if they really don't do that on Aldi premises.0
