Dear Simply Rewards Customer,

We are writing to inform you that Simply Rewards by Nationwide will no longer be available from 1st April 2019. This is because Nationwide have decided to simplify their offering and focus on their core products and services.

Until then, you can continue to use the service to view and redeem offers as you normally would. Please note, any qualifying purchases for offers redeemed on or before 31st March 2019 will still earn cashback.

We’d like to thank you for using Simply Rewards by Nationwide and hope you’ve enjoyed using the programme. If you have any further queries, please contact us using the Help section on the Simply Rewards website.

Kind regards,

The Simply Rewards Team

  • That's a shame, I just used it to get 40% cashback on an order worth £75! Didn't get to use it very often, but when I did it saved me a lot of money.

You can still get very similar deals from first direct or HSBC Visa cards.

I never had any offers remotely like 40% off anything!

I have one at the moment. :)

I'm a little surprised Nationwide is dumping this discount scheme because it appear to be funded by merchants/retailers.

    Example:

    7% off a one-time purchase at http://www.bananarepublic.co.uk/ from Nationwide.

    Visa_Banana_Republic.png

TopCashback is currently offering 10% off purchases from Banana Republic.

I don't think these can be stacked because Nationwide's link appears to use an affiliate link.
  • Once the offer is loaded onto your card, as long as the payment is processed by Banana Republic/the retailer mentioned in the offer you'll get the cashback.

The £75 order I mentioned was actually purchased using a 50% off code, then I got 40% cashback from Nationwide on the amount that was taken from my account. So I paid £37.50 then got £15 cashback, total of 70% off! I got quite lucky with this one, most of the high cashback offers are for luxury/nice-to-have products or would be cheaper from another retailer.
  • I got some cashback, mostly from hotel stays but requirement to log on and check current offers was a hassle. And email only had 1-2 offers included. It would be much more useful, if it was part of the account as in Lloyds or AMEX.

I stopped using Select Card now, as MBNA Horizon is giving me 0.5% cashback on all transactions and is free abroad. Select Card served me well in last 11 years and I will keep it just in case, but don't plan to use it.
