VISTA - Chess Titans

Hi:
I have Vista Premium on my desktop which includes the game Chess Titans which I love. However, I recently bought a Laptop with Vista Home Basic installed and didnt realise that the game wasn't included. Can anyone tell me whether its possible to copy the game from the desktop - would it be too big a programme for the laptop? or can I buy a similar game elsewhere. Chess Titans is not available to buy in the shops.

dunno, it looks all to be in "programme files/ microsoft games/ chess" I'd copy the folder accross and give it a blast, I can't check it myself as all my computers run ultimate, the folder is about 30mb so not very big, cant go wrong just trying.

Just copying across isn't going to work. Moreover, I think Chess Titans requires the Aero interface to function - so even if one could install it in Vista Basic, it probably still wouldn't work.

Some alternatives:

* Chessmaster 10th Edition (PC) - £7.48
* Chessmaster 11 (PC) - £14.98

Before purchasing, try the demos of the last two to see how you like them, & whether v10 will work in Vista. G

I'd be surprised if it needed Aero, I thought the "Energetic, Reflective and Open" interface was just for the new look, the transparent windows etc, ho hum.
