iPhone 6 clearing location history

I’ve looked into this but the instructions don’t match the iPhone 6 or the iOS I’m on ie 12.1.2

I’m irritated by google nagging all the time about places I’ve been. I don’t like being tracked all the time. I’ve turned off privacy>location services but cannot see how to clear the location history the phone must have on there.

Any ideas?

Undervalued

Generally, on an iPhone (unlike Android) the only way to clear any data the App has retained is to delete the App then reinstall it.

If you look in Settings - General - Storage you will see how much space it is taking up. All space over and above the size of the App itself is data.

However, given this is Google, you probably also need to clear the data Google is holding online by logging in to your Google ID and working through the various options there.

The Google location history is not on your phone. It is in your Google account. Log into it and then you can clear the location history and even stop it being recorded. There will be a setting in the Google Maps app to turn off the notifications you don't like.
