I'm thinking just put this one down to experience ? And try to contact pcm to pay them direct and not trace

It won't work at this stage as trace have a no win no fee (to the PPC) contract, the PPC can't accept their original scam charge until the debt collector throws the towel in.

But why would you pay either scammers?

Ahem, no paying scammers on this forum:

    NO-ONE pays this lot:

You want to create a 'victim pays the scammer' mentality in your daughter?

I am sure you don't. That's not what I teach my student offspring.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Hi all,

Hoping you can help & offer some advice. I stupidly paid £160 to trace debt recovery for a PCN that was received last August when my partner dropped me off at Hayes & Harlington station, the original PCN documents we're never received and the first I heard of it was via the Trace Debt Recovery letter.

I submitted an enquiry via their (TDC) website to obtain the original PCN documents, two months later I received an email with the documents along with a letter confirming my chance to appeal had passed, and that I needed to pay £160 within 7 days or the case would be referred to court. Scared by this, I paid the £160 however since then I have seen multiple forums about PCN's for highpoint village, and indeed, about TDC being scammers.

The PCN says we we're "Parked outside of a marked bay / on restricted roadway / landscaped / paved areas or causing an obstruction or inconvenience to others" however, the images clearly show me getting out of the car. My partner would have turned around and driven off so the whole thing would have been over within 30 seconds.

Is there any chance for me to get my £160 back?

    Thanks in advance

This thread belongs to Mr Jones, please start your own thread, but before you do so, IIMO that there is no chance whatsoever, (unless you take them to court). Complain to your MP
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
