BA booking

Hi all,
I am trying to book a holiday on the BA website, but when I've put all my financial info in and the transaction is being processed I get a very generic error message. I asked them via Twitter and they gave a very unconvincing answer, saying prices and availability may change online, etc. Still, the same hotel and flight I wanted is still at the same price.
Is it likely my bank has prevented the order going through? I have booked via BA several times and wouldn't expect it to be red flagged.
Does calling BA help for booking holidays? I am way more confident booking online as I know what I'm doing rather than putting it into the lap of the gods!
Has anyone else had problems booking via BA? I am amazed how terrible a website they have for one of the world's top airlines!
Cheers!

Depending on the error message I would:
* Contact BA to enquire about the message
* Contact your card issuer to determine if they are causing the transaction to fail
If it's a generic error message, I'd start with BA Holidays. I expect they can price it up and sell over the phone too.
I recently had an error while paying for my BA Holiday (deposit already paid, was paying rest off). My name has a hyphen in it and their systems strip out the hyphen when storing the surname on the ticket... thus my card was being declined due to incorrect name! They took payment manually over the phone.
Out of curiosity, why have you contacted neither? Twitter staff wouldn't be helpful in this situation?0 -
Call BA but make it clear that you are calling due to an issue with their online system. This should prevent them adding any charges for booking via phone, rather than online.0

Try the booking on another browser, there are always glitches on the BA website!0

It's a dreadful website!0

I would also check with your card supplier that payment has not gone through as you may end up paying twice.0
