Warm Home discount and changing supplier

Im with NPower and want to change my electricity supplier via the MSE Cheap Energy club to take advantage of the cheaper deals but I'm due to get my Warm Home discount. I've seen on their website (and other energy supplier's websites) that you can't change until the discount has been applied. If you do, you have to apply to the new supplier, but the problem is, the suppliers only accept requests before a certain date so I would lose it completely. . Has anyone else experienced this situation?
NPower don't pay out till March whereas BG pay out in January so I'm going to lose a fair bit of money during those extra 2 months.

  • Unfortunately you need to wait untill they've applied the credit, or risk that the new supplier is still accepting applications.

It's not a well thought out scheme
