pcp wear and tear
Hi I have a mini in pcp finance and I am due to hand it back in June.
I would like to know before I hand the car back if I need wear and tear items replaced such and tyres and brakes can this be done elsewhere rather than mini who charge a fortune.
I have had the car serviced at mini through ownership.
Many thanks

Were you not given the BVRLA guide at any stage?

I have just been reading through that but my main question was do I have to have the breaks replaced at the dealership or can I get it done elsewhere? As brakes are classed as wear and tear items.0

You will need to check your T&Cs of the finance agreement, it may be the case that the finance company require the car to be serviced at an authorised dealer. Non-service items, like tyres can be done anywhere you like, though unless they are at or below the legal limit there's no requirement to change them when handing the car back.0 -
In the T&Cs it says keep the vehicle in good repair and condition and have it serviced, maintained and repaired in accordance with the manufacturers recommendations.
And yes they will need replaced before I hand the car back0 -

Get the servicing done at the main dealer.
Get the maintenance done elsewhere cheaper.0 -
I doubt they'll bother taking the wheels off and disassembling the brakes to make sure you've used genuine pads and discs. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
