Bailiffs come at 5am

Hi all.
Would like some advice please. Bailiffs knocked and banged the door and windows, this morning at 5am.
They had a lorry turn up to take my partners work van, but didn't as its a company van.
We did not answer to them at all, they didn't put anything through the door or shout through the letter box. So I don't know who they were.
They left around 7.15.

What information are you wanting OP?
Do you have a clear picture of your debts, you could post a statement of affairs
Have you had any letters that have maybe gone unopened
If bailiffs are coming maybe now's the time to face it.0 -

Whats your plan to deal with it then ?
They will be back, it would help if you did an SOA, and told us which debts have CCJ`s against them, and what the debts are for.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Bailiffs should only call between 6am and 9pm, they should also identify themselves, They cannot force entry and you don't have to let them in, if they return check who they are by speaking to them through the letter box or an upstairs window.
If you've got your mobile inform them that due to safety concerns you will video them, even if you aren't, holding your mobile up helps.
They should have ID badges and should tell you what debt they are collecting. You should find out what debt it was and make a complaint to them and the creditor that they are calling outside the prescribed hours. You should have received a notice of enforcement communication at least 10 days before they came.
They want to gain entry to get a controlled goods agreement and will not usually take goods unless they can't get an arrangement set, so if you keep the door locked they won't have any hold over you.
County court bailiffs can be managed by filling in an N245 form to suspend the warrant or vary the judgement, there's a £50 fee to vary a judgement but you can apply to waive the fee. https://www.gov.uk/get-help-with-court-fees
You should contact one of the free debt advice agencies (National Debtline/ StepChange/ CAB) to see what the best way to handle this is, they can do separate solutions for you and your partner. It may only need the forms to send back to court or if both your debts are under £20K you may be able to do a DRO each, IVA, DMP or bankruptcy0 -

Costs are £75.00 for the issue of the Notice of Enforcement
£235 for a Stage 2 Taking Control of Goods Fee
Then more if it goes to Stage 3 - Removal of Goods.
And the first 2 fees are payable even if the Bailiffs empty handed
(The Fees are added to the debt and if they cant be paid they get written off).0 -
Why didnt you answer the door? Do you not want to try and resolve the debt?0
-
Well, you've been posting on here since at least 2016 about your debts so you've had plenty of time to sort things out before they got to this stage.
Don't know what you're expecting people to tell you? The bailiffs will, more than likely, return. You can either deal with it or continue hiding in your house and not answering the door to anyone.
Pity you didn't take some action in the last few years.0 -

At 5 am when you've just woken up and there's bailiffs trying to force their way in? I wouldn't have opened the door either. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0
