Address for insurance

Hey all,
Wondering if you could help me, as I am a little confused.

About to buy my first car, however I will be buying it and leaving it at my parents house. This is due to there not being enough parking permits at my house, and the fact my parents live near my workplace. Therefore, the car would never be at my address, as there is no where I can put it.
When I go through to do the insurance, it asks for my address - does this have to be my current address? As I know it later asks where it would be kept overnight which is my parents address, but putting in my own address too boosts the premium by £1500 - which would be fair if the car would be there as it is a higher risk area, but it never would be.

If I did have to put my own address in, the second problem is that I will be moving out of here in about five months time, to move back in with my parents. So, if I did put my own address, would my premium reduce if I then changed it half way through/or would I have to cancel it? Equally, I was going to pay annually but if I am moving halfway through is it better to do it monthly?

Sorry - lots of info but very unsure and I want to make sure I do it properly! Thank you :)

How do you get from your parents to your place?

If you walk, and your parents are near your work, why bother having a car?

Because I am still at my current address for the time being, so I think I need to have my ID linked to my address, no?

I get a lift with a neighbour to work, occasionally get the bus - the car is because I passed my test in November and haven't drove since so I want to be able to take myself out occasionally so I don't forget it all! I currently work in a school and need to be able to drive for the holiday work I have, but would still be returning the car to my parents.
The real need for the car is for the next academic year from September, which is when I will be back living with them and I will need to be driving all over the place - hence why I really want to be driving now so I get used to it again.

Consider speaking to an insurance broker rather than just doing online quotes, you may find they can get you a better deal rather than the automatically generated algorithm flagging up the two differing addresses being an issue.

If you have used your real details and 2 different addresses on the comparison sites, this will be flagged up to your chosen insurer.

It is possible that you will then have to prove your actual residence by eg a utility bill.

If the car is never at your residence, I don't see how using your parents address would ever be an issue as a claim from your address would never arise.

As suggested, a broker might be useful.

When I moved in with My fiance, my insurance went down by £180 and I got that back in cash. Suspect the same thing would happen for you.

By the book would be to be honest at every stage - declare your actual address, change it when you move.

If you decide to do this, it's worth checking which insurers allow you to make changes mid-policy without admin fees.
