We have an ADT monitored alarm. £25 per month maintenance and monitoring fee.

This includes ALL maintenace and repairs (including a check up every 6 months.) The two times it has activated this year the police have been on the doorstep within 5 minutes with lights and sirens. The police HAVE to repond to a monitored confirmed alarm within 10 minutes (i think) as an A grade call. A keyholder has to attend the premesis within 20 minutes of the activation otherwise the police can leave the premesis if there is no sign of any break in.

All any alarm does is stop the people who would break in on the off chance, they will just go to any unalarmed premesis. A monitored alarm means the police WILL attend to the activation. Unmonitored alarms do not have to be attended.
I would say if you can afford it then get a monitored system.
