If you don't know anyone on the Solicitors acceptable certifiers list what is the most economic way of getting ID's done?

There's no standard list, so it might help if you told us who is on the list you're looking at?0

However, the list I was given is:
· A solicitor/ legal executive/ licensed conveyancer
· Bank or building society manger
· Independent financial advisor (Financial conduct authority or prudential regulation authority regulated)0 -
Your mortgage broker can do it, if you are using one.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0

They're in Leeds and I'm in Hertfordshire.0

Do they want certification that your face matches the ID, or just that they've seen the ID i.e. do you need to visit them in person?
Bank/BS manager then? Especially if you have (or will have) a mortgage with them.
You'll probably find a bored solicitor willing to do it for not much cash in hand.0 -
Certified Photo ID is the requirement0

You can go to the post office with your original documents and get this done
It costs £12 for three items.
The photocopy them and stamp them to say they are a true copy of the originals. You can then post these to your broker, but you must also send the receipt the post office give you to prove they have certified the documents.I am a Mortgage Adviser

Certified as what though? Certified as merely being a true copy of the original ID? Or certified as looking like your face?MortgageMamma wrote: »You can go to the post office with your original documents and get this done
Only if you're lucky enough to find one of these behind the counter though:

Not always needed. Certain post offices off a certification service usually the big ones. I've never had any issues with using post office certified documents ever, and most of my business that I transact is non face to face.
Think about it - they can do passport checking serviceI am a Mortgage Adviser
