Can someone please tell me if it is a breech of confidentiality for barclaycard to phone my employer stating who they are and asking them to tell me to get in touch, and this was just a late payment by a week.

Probably not unless the bank disclosed to your employer the reason why they wanted to talk to you.
Find out exactly what was said to your employer and then take it up with the bank.
If any personal information was given to your employer then that would be a breach of the Data Protection Act.
You could say the bank acted in good faith to stop your account running up extra charges without your knowledge and they made contact with you via your employer. Was there a problem with them contacting you at home?Previously known as Bokken, registered at MSE in Nov 04,computer glich deleted my access but it is fun building up my stars from scratch,again.:D0
