Mounting TV in Summer House

I have a small 19-inch TV I want to mount in a wooden summer house at the back of the garden and wasn't sure on the best way to do this, so I am looking for advice.

I have a bracket for the TV but would screwing it directly into the wood cause problems if it pierces to the exterior?

Would no nails be strong enough? No nails a bit of wood/MDF or whatever to the wall and then mount it to that?

"No nails a bit of wood/MDF".....NO:rotfl:
  • What is the wall construction? Is it simply timber battens + cladding? If so, I'd probably fix some 12/18mm plywood to two of the battens to form a backplate and then screw the TV bracket into the plywood. It will be more than strong enough for such a small TV.

Add another layer of wood to the inside, and fix the TV to that. Secure the additional wood with screws which are short enough, but use a lot of them

What weight is the TV, 19 inch it will depend on age.

Also depends on the bracket type.

If none of the frame is convenient location it will need something structural for support

Very easy to over engineer support for a 5kg TV. (newer ones are under3kg.)
