    Thanks to you and Google cache, I was able to copy the link's original text and re-post it somewhere else. Unfortunately, it contains a number of broken links for the same reason. I think I'll wait until there's a definitive, "We can't restore the pre-29/6/07 threads" announcement before I rebuild any more.

    I've changed the 'HERE' link in my signature and it now points to the new post. The old one (a post in a 2006 thread) is still inaccessible by conventional means.

    I've just checked again - all threads started before 29-6-07 are still missing.
    Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
