Horstmann E7 heater
Hi all! I'm new to the forum, just wondered if anyone could help with this issue.
I just had a new Horstmann Electronic 7 control panel installed for my electric water heater (the last one blew!).
It is working fine in terms of heating the water, but the 'off-peak' light is always on. I've been through their manual and checked everything on the displays is where it should be, but the light won't switch off.
Does anyone have any idea why this might be happening?
Many thanks in advance!

What timings have you set for the off peak heating?
You could try doing a Factory Reset and then reprogram it.No free lunch, and no free laptop

The Horstmann Electronic controller 7 is either off / on / timed with a corresponding warning light.
Your PartL spec water cylinder has two independent immersion heating elements (1) a top element for 'boost' [approx 20% volume) only and a (2) bottom element for 'timed' only [approx 80% volume)
Your 7 hours actual off peak cheap timings are set by your [regional] electricity distribution company and completely out of your control. The Horstmann water controller has a built in 'over-ride / isolation switch' such that both can never be on at the same time. The PartL spec water cylinder / Horstmann water controller will have two separate cables going to each of the two immersion heating elements.
I'm assuming you have switched the boost off and the light stays on when it shouldn't:
- If you feel the two cables during the middle of the day both should be cold[ish].
- If you feel the two cables in the middle of the night the top one should be cold[ish] during the night and the bottom one should be hot[ish].
You can as macman said reset back to [where it should be] factory default setting if your installer has scrambled the settings.
