Parking Ticket
on the 06/11/2018 I parked in Brighton, There were double yellow lines but a very large island outside the Hotel. I parked on the island leaving a couple of meters each side of the car.
I got a ticket. I appealed straight away. Today nearly 10 weeks later (67 days) I receive a letter saying:.....
Although you state in your appeal that your vehicle was parked off the road, this does not allow parking on yellow lines during the hours of restriction.
Double yellow line restrictions apply to the road, verge and pavement. As double yellow lines are enforceable at all times they do not require a roadside sign. It is the motorist’s responsibility to ensure that they check the lines to ensure that their vehicle is legally parked before leaving it unattended.
Parking on yellow lines can have road safety implications, and vehicles parked illegally are a significant cause of traffic congestion in the city; they can create delays for emergency services and pose a danger to pedestrians, cyclists and other road users.
The information provided has been considered, but the Council finds that there are not sufficient grounds to cancel the PCN. You now have two options:
Is there a maximum amount of time they should have replied by?

It's a spoof. It has to be a spoof. Nobody, surely...?0

Sadly there are still drivers who believe double yellows only apply to the road itself. There was plenty on the road where I used to work parking up on grass verges thinking they wouldn't get a ticket, unfortunately for them they were sadly mistaken. It's a spoof. It has to be a spoof. My question is: can they take so long ( 67 days ) to get back to me after an appeal ? Is there a time limit?0
