Getting moss cleaned off roof

Our roof is covered with thick moss and we are constantly cleaning the gutters. Its a losing battle. Would a diluted solution of Patio Magic work? Not keen on pressure washing. Brush removal quotes were coming in at £4k!0

I put a plastic grid on my gutters; now I spend my life picking moss from the floor.0

As a matter of interest, how old is the house and what is the construction of the tiles?0

Fix a copper strip just below the apex on each side. Rainwater will pass over the copper and gradually poison the moss which will then fall/blow/wash off.
A bit of moss is generally not a problem.0 -
About 40 years old. The roof is single lapped tiles.0

I'll second what Aylesbury says above.
Copper stripping or wire around the ridges will slowly poison the moss when it rains. And will keep the roof fairly moss free - but some greening from the copper over time is probable!0 -

The manufacturer states it is suitable for roofing

Low-pressure spray directed downwards from the ridge should avoid problems0 -
I use patio magic. I spray it once a year of epdm rubber roof that doesn't get sun in the Winter. I have used it on rosemary tiles and roof ridges too. I got on a ladder up to the gutter and sprayed it with a garden sprayer on jet it reached the top of the ridges0

1kg of soda crystals from poundstretcher is only 79p and this kills moss completely in around a week. Just sprinkle on as powder or mix into a spray on solution. I killed aa very thick layer of moss on my neglected tarmac drive 6 months ago with it and none has grown back.0

I have used wet and forget rapid and very pleased with the results. We live close to lots of trees and this stuff really works. It takes time so don't expect instant results though. I bought mine on a deal from QVC and this spray version is great as you connect to a hose get up the ladder, wet your roof and wait a few weeks.
