Hi,
I am soon coming to the end of my bankruptcy 6 year term, & am trying to build up a credit score using a high interest credit card over the last year, & I’m looking to obtaining a second credit card to help with the score. My aim is to eventually get a mortgage with my girlfriend. Do you have any ideas at all, & types of cards to apply for please?
Kind regards,
Jeremy

Any card will do. Use it and clear it in full each month.
Don't monitor your credit score, but check your files from time to time.0 -
First stop looking at the score - it's not a real number and lenders do not see, use or care about it.
By "high interest" I assume you mean a credit builder card?
If you want to get a second card to help with your CREDIT HISTORY (not SCORE), then use an eligibility checker to see what you could potentially qualify for.
As for the usage of both cards, make sure you clear them in full each month after receiving the statement.0 -

Its not strictly nessessary to use credit cards to build credit history,
A lot of utility providers report to your credit file, as do telecoms/broadband providers, then theirs your own bank, as long as you stay within limits, don`t miss payments, generally be a good customer, then that builds history also.
Its a bit of a myth that you need to use credit cards to achive this.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards.
