  • Looks like a magic wand for tax hasn't appeared in the last two months here. You might have to either pay a clever tax accountant to find a solution, or (Shock! Horror! ) contribute to public services in the country you are making a tidy income in. Public services that allow you to charge the rent as there are roads and schools and hospitals and suchlike near your rental property making it worth renting.

There is a 25% premium on second homes in Wales from what I can see.
If I transfer to brother it would be purely in name he would not touch the money in it
I have lived in the house a few years back it was my home
So any tax experts know of any ways round this ?

How would you make him not liable for income tax on the rent ? how would you recompense him for the lost FTB benefits if he buys a house ina few years time? If he gets into financial difficulties how would you prevent his debtors "touching the money" in it?
If you lived in the house for a few years that lowers CGT. There's a calculator on the web you can use to determine what it woudl be it's down to how long you lived in it and how long you let it out for.
