Wrong car on finance agreement
I will try to cut a long story short, I took out a hire purchase for a car last march, I have now noticed that the car I have been driving is a different registration/colour and model to the car on the finance agreement, I have been told that this is an admin error and they will resolve it once i send them the v5 for the car I am driving, I have done a hpi check on the car I am driving and it shows as free of any finance, is this a good opportunity to negotiate a deal to cancel the finance so I can get another vehicle more suitable for my expanding family.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
P.s I am constantly being told by the finance company that this error has never happened before so there may be some time to resolve this and to keep making payments in the meantime.

You can always ask them, but you'd be relying purely on good will as an admin error won't absolve you of any of the liability.
Presumably you read the finance agreement before you signed it, so how come you missed the car was a different colour?0 -
Because the car registration was correct on the third partys pre agreement check so after skimming through the agreement, I must have missed the details of the car.
In the finance agreement it specifically states that the loan is secured against the goods, and the goods being this other car, I have done a check on this other car which has now been sold by the dealer and is showing outstanding finance on a hpi check.
If a finance agreement really has any legal upstanding, and the loan is secured against goods that i never received (yes i understamd i did receive a car vut not the one on the agreement i signed) then what is stopping me from handing back my car, and claiming back all the money I've paid so far?0 -

No I am wanting out of the agreement that I am angry about, what would have happened if i got to the end of the agreement after paying it all and the goods weren't mine but another car was that i didnt have? Would they use that to their advantage? Of course they would.
I am simply asking for some friendly advise, not to be judged thank you.0 -
Some people have no shame. You want to get full new value for a car which is now worth considerably less. Sounds dodgy at the very least.0

The finance company told me this is the first time they have seen this error, it is common to see a spelling mistake or one digit wrong but not the completely wrong car and registration for a different vehicle. Apperently.0

You signed the document believing it to be the car that you have. As I said dodgy at the very least.0

What I asked is if I could negotiate a deal, I am willing to negotiate with them so neither party suffers too much of a lose, if it means I can go and get a different car big enough for my expanding family. You talk about no shame, I think you misunderstand what sort of person I am, I am simply trying to make the best of a situation that has left me with nothing but stress and worry while the finance company are nothing but rude and treating this as my mistake.0

Why is it causing stress and worry? It's a simple administration error that should be easily solved.0

Never mind, thank you all anyway.0
