The amount of dust and dirt that can be made by a stove is the main reason several of my friends and said for me not to have one, I suppose if you can deal with that and the cleaning of the stove then fine.
Having said that Dogs and Children can create their fair share of mess!!

Your also need adequate ventilation and a Co2 alarm in the room its installed in...….

There is no such thing as a CO2 (carbon dioxide) alarm - you mean CO (carbon monoxide).

I'd hope anyone installing woodburners would know the difference.
For every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.

I think greyteam's comment may have related to dust and discolouration inside the home as much as outdoor pollution.

We've certainly had much less dust attributable to the woodburner since switching stoves. We still get it, even when it's not on, because much dust is exfoliated skin and the majority here is the result of farming activity nearby.

    Amazingly messy place, the countryside!

Yes my comment was regarding the inside of the home.
There is a certain amount of fine dust & ash that floats about however careful you are with cleaning & stoking up.
If you are into white walls & white shag pile carpets a wood burner is not for you !!
