Wife' 50 party presentation

Hi All

At my wife's 50th in March I'm looking to allow people to upload photos taken on the night to a One drive account and they will then be projected on a screen at the venue. Venue has laptop connection, wifi and in built in projector so this could happen instantaneously.

I was thinking of getting them to send/upload images to a One drive account than then getting the laptop to run a slide show from that account.

Any other ideas?

How do I easily direct them to the One drive account? QR code printed on a piece of paper? Most of them will only have Facebook, not snapchat or Instagram and I don't want them to have to create an account.

Thanks

Not so sure it would be that easy at initial glance, to your onedrive account that is. But will put some further thought into it. There is also a limit on the storage space of onedrive.

OneDrive Basic has a 5 GB limit. More than enough for people to upload a few photographs.

  • Thanks.

It doesn't have to be OneDrive, could be a similar shared drive I guess like Dropbox, but hopefully not one that people have to create an account.

Unless you are going to get people to set up accounts/organise emails etc in advance. probably easier to get people to upload to a facebook page/website and display/download pictures from there?
Eg you could set up a 50th facebook page for your wife and get folks to add pictures there
  • Thanks for the reply.

Would the FB page self scroll I wonder so that when a new photo was uploaded it would move down?

hmm - maybe not as easy as I thought.

Although it sounds at first like a neat idea to have anybody be able to upload a picture, and it immediately appear on a big screen at the venue. You'll likely get some bright spark who'll take an inappropriate picture, knowing it'll be shown.

Perhaps better have them upload to a FB page, and then someone responsible could transfer them to the Onedrive account to be displayed in the venue.
Yes I know that means someone has to do a bit of curation work. But perhaps safer that way.

This was my thinking. Use FB as the upload page and then transfer pics to whatever program you wish.
Eg a photo viewer prog that can display newest photo
