Do your friends / work colleagues save and or invest ?

My work colleagues fall into three categories,
those in their 50's for whom pension need is ever more real
and every bean is put towards a more comfortable retirement
those not in their 50's whose holy grail and earnings are squirreled away for house deposits
those not in their 50's who seem to be massive spendthrifts because they see no hope of ever being able to afford their own home so replace this with latest gadgets, clothes, cars, nights out etc etc.
Financial education is such a huge area affecting all aspects of our life and choices we make for a nicer life yet we have no formal education around it. Clich! but if I knew in my 20's , 30's what I know now I would have done so much differently.
I don't feel sorry for myself though as I am financially ok now and in the future but I could certainly retire earlier if I had made better use of my disposable income.0 -
A colleague of mine invests, finding out of they invest is fine, I don't see that being rude, but asking how much they invest and how much they've made etc is rude.Save £12k in 2019 #154 - £14,826.60/£12kSave £12k in 2020 #128 - £4,155.62/£10k0
