Fensa Certficate query

Hi All,
I'm in the process of selling my house and I require a Fensa certificate for the windows I had installed back in 2012.
The company that did the works are definitely Fensa registered and are still trading but for whatever reason the works weren't registered.
My question is, can I go back to the original window company and ask for a retrospective Fensa certificate or has that ship sailed? What are my other options if this isn't possible?
Thanks

You can go to your Local Authority and apply for a Building Regularisation Certificate. Building Control will sign the windows off if they're compliant.
However there will be a charge for this, I think it's around £200.0 -

Yes you can. But not sure how far back you can go. We had the same problem where our installer had forgotten. So I rang them and they did it there and then. It took about 4 weeks to get sent out from fensa though.
I wouldn't bother with building control. Just pay for an indemnity policy. It would be about £50 at most.0 -
Provided your installer registered the fitment, you should be able to get a copy of the certificate from here:
https://www.fensa.org.uk/fensa-certificate
for £20.0
